Meet Our Staff
Sharon
Lead Veterinary Technician
Sharon joined the Brick City Cat Hospital team in 2023 after working at the University of Florida Small Animal Hospital. Since joining us, she has shown tremendous professional growth and has stepped into the Lead Technician role following Amber’s retirement.
Sharon loves working with cats every day and brings a steady, caring presence to our treatment team. Outside of work, she is a proud Seminoles fan and enjoys spending time with her son and fiancé. She also loves reading, gardening, and being outdoors as much as possible.
At home, Sharon has two cats, two dogs, and two geckos.
Amber
Veterinary Technician
Amber has been with us since we opened our doors in 2000. She has been working in the veterinary field since she graduated from Saint Petersburg College with her degree in Animal Science in 1985. She is an indispensable asset in our office both with our patients and behind the scenes.
Her specialty is dentistry and educating clients about preventative dental care. She also enjoys educating clients on special nutrition and weight maintenance. She is scaling back her hours with us as she moves her career into medical coding.
With her spare time she enjoys her family, doing home improvement and going to the beach.
Alyse
Veterinary Technician
Alyse first joined Brick City Cat Hospital in 2017. She has been working in the veterinary field for 17 years and graduated from Santa Fe College in 2015. Born and raised in Michigan, Alyse moved to Florida in 2013.
Alyse enjoys helping clients better understand their cats, especially when it comes to behavior, nutrition, and everyday care. It is important to her to take a calm, patient approach, pay close attention to detail, and help clients feel comfortable and confident caring for their cats.
Outside of work Alyse stays busy raising her three children and helping run her family's business, CRK9 Dog Training (CarlosRamirezK9.com) with her husband, Carlos.
Staci
Veterinary Technician
Staci was born in Ocala and grew up on a quiet farm in Reddick, where animals were always part of everyday life. While she loved all animals, cats quickly became her favorite.
After graduating from North Marion High School in 2013, Staci went on to college to become a certified Veterinary Assistant. She has been part of the Brick City Cat Hospital team since 2019.
Outside of work, Staci has a special heart for rescuing feral kittens. She enjoys working hands-on with them, helping them learn to trust people so they can find loving forever homes.
Cheyanne
Veterinary Technician
Cheyanne joined Brick City Cat Hospital in 2021 as a boarding attendant and quickly worked her way up to veterinary technician. She was later accepted to the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine and is expected to graduate in 2027.
We are always happy to have Cheyanne back with us during her school breaks, and we are excited that she hopes to return to Brick City Cat Hospital as a veterinarian after graduation.
Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is being an integral part of the health and wellness of the cats cared for at Brick City Cat Hospital.
Anessa
Veterinary Technician
Anessa has been part of the Brick City Cat Hospital team since December 2024. She has a passion for details and helps lead our Meow One Study, which focuses on the use of GLP-1 medications for weight loss in obese cats.
Her favorite quote is “Just keep swimming,” and she truly helps keep all of us moving forward. Outside of work, Anessa is an avid crafter and enjoys creating crochet gifts in her spare time.
She is also very active in the cat distribution system, with several “babies” who found their way to her and became part of the family. When she is not at work, Anessa enjoys spending time with her son, who takes the “just keep swimming” motto a little more literally.
Geeta
Veterinary Technician
Geeta is our newest veterinary technician to join the Brick City Cat Hospital team. She comes to us from Brooklyn, New York, where she gained extensive experience in small animal anesthesia.
Geeta moved to Florida in April 2026 to be closer to family, and brings a warm, caring approach to every patient she meets. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is giving love and care to all fur babies while helping educate their families.
Fun fact: Geeta is a lifelong vegetarian and has never eaten meat. She is also a wonderful vegetarian cook — and she could be a chef if she wanted to be!
Aubrey
Customer Service Representative
Aubrey has been part of the Brick City Cat Hospital team since 2024. She moved to the Ocala area to be closer to family and enjoys spending time with them on her mini farm in Dunnellon.
At the front desk, Aubrey’s quiet energy, calm presence, and attention to detail are a wonderful asset to both our clients and our team.
Keianna "Kiki"
Veterinary Assistant
Kiki joined Brick City Cat Hospital in 2023 and absolutely loves caring for our boarding patients, along with her many other duties as an assistant. Our technicians say she is the very best person in the hospital at holding cats, which is no small compliment in a feline-only practice.
This year, Kiki has also been training as a surgical assistant and continues to grow her skills in patient care.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors in her garden and being on the river fishing with her husband and son. At home, Kiki has three cats, two dogs, a sand boa, two bearded dragons, and 20 crested geckos.
Kelsey
Veterinary Assistant
Kelsey joined Brick City Cat Hospital in December 2025 as a boarding attendant and is now working as a veterinary assistant while training to become a veterinary technician.
She enjoys learning something new every day and brings a kind, curious attitude to her work with our patients. Outside of the hospital, Kelsey loves reading a good book and spending time in nature.
Ryleigh
Boarding Attendant
Ryleigh joined Brick City Cat Hospital in April 2026 after being noticed for her wonderful customer service at Silver Springs State Park. She is currently taking coursework at Santa Fe Community College to build a strong foundation for a future in veterinary medicine.
Ryleigh loves being outdoors, spending time on the water, and educating people about wildlife. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is meeting new patients every day — and she truly loves it.
Veronica
Surgical Coordinator
Veronica came to us in 2009 after spending 10 years at the Humane Society of Marion County. She first fell in love with caring for animals while in high school when she became employed by the Puss & Pooch Motel in her local town in Pennsylvania. She learned the basics of animal boarding and grooming at that facility and then went on to expand her knowledge through personal studies and research.
In her spare time Veronica designs and sells traditional Native American clothing. She also enjoys spending quality time with her large family of furry children and her 5 grandchildren.
Valerie
Practice Manager
Valerie joined Brick City Cat Hospital in the front office in the spring of 2017 and moved into the Practice Manager role in 2024. She earned her degree in Animal Science from Virginia Tech in 1986 and has spent her career working with animals in both veterinary and zoological settings.
Outside of the hospital, Valerie enjoys life with one cat, two collies, registered Morgan horses, and a flock of North American Blackbelly Barbados sheep.
